Replacing a JL W3 with a W6

Ugh... it's just so hard to justify $400 on a box... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif
That's about what I've spent on my entire system! Not only that, but I'm trying to save up for a new double din HU!
I see you are in Greensboro. If you do get 10w6,you should contact Vitveet here on the forum. He can make an enclosure for you wether it be sealed or ported. He is pretty close to you and comes to Greensboro often. He is a good guy and does excellent work. Prices are good too.

Another suggestion, what if you sell your dual box with the subs and let someone else fix or replace the bad sub. Get a single 12 or single 10 box but a 10" sub that maybe be better than the existing JL's 10's you have. Maybe this way you will come out ahead and actually pocket some money.

Having 2 subs is not going to give you more bass, it simply gives you more SPL (louder), and maybe you can achieve that with a sub that has high spl and good SQ. I am sure other cool members here can suggest a good quality value Sub. By having a single sub, you will have more room also, and reduce chances of one sub failing if you have one instead of 2. And you will start fresh with a new box and sub, reducing the chances of the other sub failing in the future. Maybe you can sell the box separate and the subs separate if it is easier that way. :)
