Repairing holes in a subwoofer surround.

You can use silicone on some holes; just spread it around the hole on the back of the surround. Never heard the tissue paper / rubber cement method, but it sounds good. On smaller holes, I use clear nail polish.

I have also heard the nail polish method but I think the tear in my sub is too big for it. The sub is eclipse titanium 12", if I can't fix it I'm gonna try and order a 15" top assembly for my sub, but anything cheaper is a plus.

About the silicone, will that really be safe? I thought I read somewhere that the fumes from silicone drying will actually be harmful to the surround specifically. That is why you let the sub box completely dry before putting a sub in it. I could have read some persons BS though I don't know. Silicone sounds easiest though but I don't wanna screw my sub up more.
