from ebay, but the seller guarenteed it would work, and polecat told me the guy was legit. so i guess we'll see when i get a response from the seller

either way i think all refurbs done by kicker have a 90 day warranty. but dont quote me on that

I'm not really scare on getting a refurb , I may get something small like a 500.4 or something close

sometimes refurbs are sturdier than new. My mrv-1507 was refurbed, and has seen some abusive ohm loads (only supposed to hit down to 4 bridged mono!) and still works great.
