just got a lousy window tint ticket and need to take it off so an officer can sign me off. ive talked to buddies where they used a basic razor to shave off the tint and just peeled it off as soon they got a deep cut. is this a safe procedure?

if no, how much would it cost to remove 2 windows with tint?

thanks all

WINDOW TINT TICKET thats a ***** was it presidental tint BLACK? umm what i did was jsut scrape it off used a blow dryer with the heat and expanded. dont pay for it do it urself enjoy it.

it was a light tint, 35% (or 65% for you reverse folks)

ill attempt myself, thanks for the links

how long does the blowdryer take for it to heat up enough to be "loose"?

i get to laugh at the cop cuz colorado law is as dark as u fking want on the back windows and rear window if the fronts arent tinted. so i got limo on the back =P lol at night tho it looks like its blacked out if u look at it directly from the front. cant tell until u get right up on it lol

I have 2 1/2 percent all around havent had any trouble yet but I removed a couple of my buddies old tints w/ a razor blade, tint removal and windex, only took me about 5-8 min or less. Use the razor blade and the tint removal and wedge the blade between the tint and the window, then use your fingers and peel it off but keep spraying w/ tint removal, if you dont use the tint rem. the adhesive will still be on the window, and if that happens use the windex and razor blade to shave it off. I know for a fact that you will use the tint rem. but it doesnt really work on the adhesive very well, so just use the windex it makes it very easy to remove the adhesive, and use long swipes, strokes or whatever you want to call it you will get done pretty quick, and if you paid someone to do the tint, you prob. have tint under the weather strip of the door, so if you want to remove that peice of the tint, you are going to have to remove the door, but if that doesnt bother you, you dont have to. just remember when using a blade dont press to hard or it will scratch the window, i hope this helps.

but if you want more info i suggest you go to http://www.tintdude.com they have tons of info and laws, dont know if they are updated (laws), but its good to know.

I have never done it by just using a razor blade. It seems it wouldtake forever like that.

Get a black trash bag, squirt water on the window, cover with bag, let it sit in the sun for a bit, then pull tint off. All the sticky residue will come with it.
