Removing Minor Scratches

I have a few minor scratches and swirls on my car, I don't know from what, but I bought the car used.

The scratches aren't deep but I want my car perfect.

I know waxing it will make them not noticeable, but I want my car flawless without going to a professional detailer.

Whats a good product from permanently removing these?

And the method of doing it?

Thanks

-Mitch

I had the same problem on my old durango and like you I am meticulous with my things so I used nu finish scratch doctor and it worked pretty good. Most of the scratches came off. You probaly wont get every single one off but the majority will come off.

If that nu finish doesn't work then search online for some good compounds if you have a buffer. There's a bunch of good shyt out there you just gotta look.

Most OTC products simply fill in the swirls and minor scratches. Eventually the product washes away, and you're back to square one.

A quality polish and a buffer is what you need, but it's not something you'll perfect in one day.

Check out a detailing forum, you'll learn PLENTY there.

Whatever you do, remember, start with the LEAST abrasive and work your way up.

Autopia has a big detailing forum. You'd want to do a complete detail (Wash, Clay, Polish *machine polish*, and wax). A good buffer machine is a Porter Cable 7424 that is a very popular one. You could youtube on videos on how to polish with the machine. To take care of swirls/light scratches, it's going to be a entire day backbreaking job.

Here's an article on Polishing.

Some brands I recommend are Poorboys, Sonus, Klasse, Chemical Guys, Griots, Pinnacle and much more.

These are the websites I use to purchase my products.
