Removing Amp from Sub Box then install on a new one

I was wondering if there's going to be any problems at all and the procedure to how to remove the amp and re-install w/o any complications. I'm buying a new sub box from someone and i just wanted to buy new wires or w/e. I'm a bit of newb about some of this stuff but i'm learning. Any opinions/recommendations? TIA

If the only thing you are doing is pulling the amp off the top of the box there should be no problem. If you have to disconnect any wires make sure you first remember where each one goes. Then disconnect one at a time and tape the end of it so there is no chance it will come in contact with anything it is not supposed to. Once you are done just reverse the proceedure.

the amp is on the back of the box, so i should be okay right?

you should be fine as long as you hook everything back up correctly and as long as you make sure no wires come in contact with each other. Your best bet would actually be removing the negative battery cable from the battery under your hood. that takes away from having to be so very careful. Just make sure when you disconnect it that it does not come in contact with any metal source.

my only suggestion is to pull the fuse out of the fuse holder under the hood. That should in theory stop power from reaching the wires in the back that may toutch. go with bigOso's advise and tape em anyway. good luck

sorry if i didn't clarify enough in the OP but I'm unscrewing the 4 screws that is attached to amp and then remove the sub box itself. Then right afterwards, I'm placing in the sub box and re-attaching the screws of the amp. So the question is, do i have unhook any cables from the amp instead (i.e the rca's, ground, etc)
