Accessory wire is for powering your cigarette lighter plug. Remote wire is a wire coming out fo your aftermarket head unit to turn on a amp, power antenna. You can use either or.

Your remote wire is switched by the head unit. The accessory wire is switched with the ignition usually, but I have seen accessory wires that were not switched in random vehicles. Some accessory wires are constant. You need a DMM to probe and see how yours works in your particular vehicle.

Well I'm powering my Amp with a remote wire from my computer. But my computer also has a ACC wire that needs power, can I power my comp using my spare remote wire that i have ran or do u think i need to have a "real" acc?

Don't get how your computer has a remote wire?

But the answer is No you can't use the remote wire in place of an Acc wire. Your best bet is to use an automotive relay and use your batt wire which would be switched on by the remote.

I have a Carputer built from MO-CO-SO.COM.. . it powers up my amp with a remote from the comp so that windows startup doesnt cause feedback to my speakers....
