Remote wire problems and questions...

Ok, so a while back i accidentaly touched some bare metal with my remote wire (doh!) anyways, i was just going to wire up a switch from the ciggy lighter and run a a piece of wire to the amp, so it would be getting 12v constant, would that be alright? amp is going to be a kicker dx700 or tsunami 1000d (on an RE SE)....

Should work out just fine as long as it's a constant and you have a switch. You may also want to put an inline fuse in there too. I think most remote line fuses are like 3a or something.
