ok guys so i am going to get one of these on my car but i went and got a quote today and it seemed higher than i expected ($548 before taxes on a 2006 mustang coupe) so my question is a car starter and alarm that has an lcd .. how much should i be looking to pay for it installed ... and if its going to be that high in labor how hard are they to install?? should i try it myself??? or just leave it up to the guys who do it day in and day out??

thanks

zach

I dont believe it's hard if you know really what you're doing, and know how to use a DMM well to find all the wires.

That sounds about right. Stores here want anywhere from $500-800 for a Viper 791 xv installed.

go to Amazon .com and get a BNIB alarm with warrenty for under 200 dollars and have a shop put it in or yourself that price you were quoted sounds high, I bought one and had it installed and it cost me a total of 330 dollars that is the for the alarm and install,

if you good with 12v in the car do it yourself, just make sure you read the install manual and you have a DMM handy cause you gonna need it and the 12volt.com should have your wireing diagram for that car. Good Luck

Bought my Viper 791xv from a forum member for $185

Local shop installed it for $170.

Saving a bunch of money - priceless //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

Well Here is where the price jumps for your exact car.

2006 Ford Mustang

Category: Immobilizer Bypass

Required: Yes

Type: SecuriLock

Part#: 1100F

Notes: Standard on all models. When using the 1100X, a software change to 1100FM is needed.

Alternates: 1100X, 556SW, 556UW, DesignTech 20402, DesignTech 29402

Also their is only 20 amps of 12v in your ign, I would personally run a new one to the batt and that would be minimal in price anyways. They quoted you decent for everything at hand.

my friend stole a remote starter Python one from Circuit City and I paid like 75 to get it installed. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

Did that include remote start? Remote trunk? Remote global unlock? AND immobilizer bypass??
Sounds HELLA cheap!
now that the 791xv is an older model, i think its cheap to get them installed. for that price, it includes the remote start as well but i dont know about the other three.

but i still got a triad security system im trying to remove. they're charging me $40 bucks to take the existing one out:(

Model year has nothing to do with it, Installation itself at CC is around 160 labor on a REMs/alarm. 120 for kyless/remstart and around 80 for just alarm.
