remote start/ keyless entry issues

I have an avital remote start system that I'm having problems with. I have two remotes, 1 has never worked, and the other has been slowly going downhill. DO these commonly go bad? I replaced the batteries but the lock and unlock do not work at all, start works sometimes from short distances.

Are they two way remotes? if so... i'd say yes.

nope regular 3 button remotes. I'm very sure its not the brain as it still starts sometimes and the doors still unlock when I turn the key off.

could be a bad antenna as well.

replaced both batteries? the one that never worked probably just needs to be reprogrammed..

check online i know its pretty easy to pick up replacement viper remotes. Also try to resync your remotes.
