Remote bass/gain knob

So I finally bought an amp.. got one off ebay. I dont have it yet, but its a Lanzar opti2000D.

The downside is.. the guy doesnt have the remote knob for this. Could I get another brands bass knob as long as the plugs are the same or is each bass knob designed from the corresponding company for certain amps and only those amps?

Would I need another short RCA cable to use that? To go from headunit sub out to one side of it, then my longer RCA to go to amp at rear of car?
