REM Switch

Jigga what?
Well this has been asked a couple times but I wanted to get in to detail a little bit more.

What I want to do is connect this to my rem wire so that I dont always have to turn my amp on.

So from where should I connect the REM wire from, h/u? or from amp? Also what else would I connect to this switch?... a ground wire or anything else?

It is necessary to connect two things in the back of the switch?

Also, would this switch be fine?

The switch you linked to is made for 125vac (house current) This one would be more up your alley for what you're wanting to do. There will be three terminals on the backside of it. One will goto ground, one will goto 12v power. The other will goto the remote turn-on circuit on your amplifier. To simplify things the terminal on the switch that is for 12v power can be connected to the remote turn-on output on your headunit. That way the switch will only have power when the stereo's on but would still allow you to control whether or not the amp is on along with it.

Your question was kinda confusing; In case you didn't grasp this part;

The [lighted] switch should be connected in between the REM lead from the headunit, and the REM input on the amp; [Then the light should be grounded anywhere.]

May want to meter the REM output on the deck, make sure it's juicy enough to light your bulb.

I think I understand now. I'll probably end up getting the one Prowler mentioned. I dont want it to light up so I wont have a ground.
