Relay = Very No.

heh.
Strongbad quote for the title. Ignore that.

I have my relay hooked up to the amplifier turnon lead from my head unit.

When my head unit turns on, my amps turn on, meaning that the relay is hooked up correctly on the amplifier turnon lead.

However, it doesn't turn on my neon tube. When I just touch the wires together that would normally be on opposite sides of the relay together (the ground from the neon and a wire to ground) the neon lights up, however i can't get the relay to turn the neon on.

I've tried reversing the positions of the neon ground on the relay.

K, i have a tiny bit of understanding, but since you are in a rush ill try my best to help...

A relay can be anywehre in the circuit because i just has to break the circuit and reconnect it, but i believe almsot everyone puts it on the +12v line.

When you have a relay, you might wanna check the amp rating and see if its a fat enough relay to transfer as much current as you're asking it to.

also, use a multimeter to check for continuity of the relay by touchin both the pins that should be connectin

hope this helps.

Well I have to do it on the ground, because I'm also hooking up the ground of my KnuKonceptz fused distro with volt-meter. This way both the ground for the volt meter and the ground for the neon will activate simultaneously.

It just doesn't make sense. Maybe the relay's broke'd?

I understand now. If the coil has a current running through it, it pulls the switch TOWARD it, but only if that current is positive. I have a ground, so it's actually pushing the switch AWAY. Hah, i'm a dumbass!
