Refurbs?

I've been looking for an amp to power my components. I found an orion 8002 for 175, however it's refurbished. I can buy a brand new one for 270.

I've never bought a refurbed amp, so I'm wondering if an amp is ok to buy as a refurb, or is it better to bite the bullet for the warranty?

Refurbished amps get more quality check than a new one.

yea refurbs go through more inspection that a regular amp cuz the company wants to make sure that they work. most of the time the place that you are buying it from will provide with a warranty so if you don't like the amp return it.

how about those wholesalers on eBay? would the warranty still be active eventhough you have no proof of that your the originally owner?

The only way to really know that your warranty is a valid one is to buy from an Authorized dealer. I can go on eBay right now, post my Orion 2500d amp for sale and say its a refurbished amp that comes with a 1 year warranty, when really it doesn't. Best bet would be to buy from an authorized dealer.

Heh, thanks, but na he's right, I should have searched. I was just browsing these forums (because it came up on a search from google) and the question came up so I pressed create new topic. Sorry, after you replyed I did a search... and ya, there are alot of these posts.

But thanks everyone for the fast replys and helpful answers.

Also, I know it's off the topic... But anyone know a rough estimate for a shop to build an amp rack for a Honda Civic?
