Refurbished RF Amp off of EBAY

Would it be good to buy one of these. They are guaranteed to work and are sealed BNIB from RF. It says they are Class "A." Can get one for 175 less than a new one.

well those aren't class A amps that's for sure. and how can it be bnib if it's refurbed? refurbs aren't new.

What he means by Class A is it's a-stock as in new condition. If it showed signs of wear then it would be b-stock.

Its says in the info its a class bd. Class A means it looks new. I would get it

One of my buddies got a refurbished JL (a1400) class d mono or something like that amp and it broke within 2 months. So i dont know... (I know they are two different brands but still, refurbished is refurbished.) I dont want to spend that much. If i bought brand new im lookin at 500 bucks.

Wouldnt that produce more than 1500 though. I'm going to run two T1's on it. I'm thinkin a 1000/1 might be enough. RF amps usually put out more than said,, correct?

Correct, esp the power series, most i see is an extra 200 or so watts.

And honestly i dont know why people get a bad vibe from refurbs, if anything i would feel safer buying a refurb. I cannot tell you how many times i went to install something for a customer and it was DOA out of the box. At least you know this one was reinspected and fixed to it 100% working order.

And also alot of companies will not sell something as new once it has left the ware house, so say the ship too much of someting or the wrong thing and it comes back, they will reinspect to maintain quality control and mark it as a refurb when there was really nothing wrong with it in the first place.

yeah refurbs are sometimes better, since the problem has been fixed and the unit has been tested
