Redoing headliner

The headliner in my Chrysler seems like it's made out of cardboard... in order to get it out of my car in one piece I had to "fold" it... it's real fragile.

There are some holes in it, and I was wondering how I should patch the holes... fiberglass? I'm going to wrap it in black suede when I'm done.

Also, there's a big hole for my overhead console, and I'm ditching it, so I was thinking fiberglass was the only way to go...

How big is the hole?

I would NOT fiberglass it... it would be rigid then.

If anything, get some foam underlay... then wrap it.

Stretch something over it real tight. Then go over it with foam underlay. Then wrap it.
