Rediculous Laws, DB meters in Police cars???

There is going to be a new law here where I live where NOISE POLUTION is going to be an offense. It was in the past, but now the cops are going to be putting DB meters in their cars to meter the loudness of stereo systems so they can issue tickets for Loud Systems once again. I think its crazy, but what can we do about it...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

IDK, it came on the news the other day. They are spending a crap load of money here for law enfocment here. Cams on every corner of the streets, a graffity romoval truck that cost over $100,000. They are just getting rediculous here with laws...

If it isn't the termlab, tell them their score is unofficial.

ive already got a ticket from the dam red light cameras, was going 50 miles an hour and they want you to slam on the fckin brakes, i had 400 lbs of groceries in the back and im supposed to be able to stop in 3 seconds? fcked up if you ask me. And if you think this is bad, just think about what the next 10-20 years has in for us, there will be cameras on every streetcorner, parking lot, walk-way, etc, in other words, we will always be watched.

And it will all be done for our "safety."

Where I live they have had DB meters in patrol cars for about 10 years now. Theyll pull you over and meter you i they can hear you from more than 30 ft away. Anything over 120 db and they write a ticket.

That's sorry as sh*t.

Don't they have better things to do like go find gang killers and such?

Just one more way of the cops/local gov trying to make easy money when they don't have to do anything. Like the red light cameras. Pure $$$ + pure lazy.

Let's say I'm a cop....do I want to risk getting shot by pulling over the gangsta looking bumpin ride or the poor white boy just out for fun in his truck with his gf on Friday night.

Nope, I'll pull over the homeboy in the truck with the system. Easy ticket to write and he'll probably pay it too and I'm off to Duncan Donuts.

If I got a ticket like that I'd have to fight it.

Ok..I'm in court now asking the officer questions under oath.

1. how often is the dB meter calibrated? each shift? how do you calibrate it-written procedure? what is your standard reference for calibration?

2. what frequency's does it cover? Is there a filter for filtering out road noise/passing cars, etc?

3. what constitutes a violation? Playing my music 15, 30, 60 seconds over the dB limit? 5 minutes?

4. what is the dB limit? How would I know that? what D.P.S. TX drivers handbook is that law posted in? Is it on TV or newspaper? Maybe I don't read or watch TV.

5. What time did I start to break the law? How many minutes did it last? How did you time me? A certified chronometer? Cheap plastic watch? When was it calibrated last? How accurate is it.

Boy I'll have to crank-it-up next time I'm down in CC!
