Rectangle Ports

Anyone know how you determine port length for rectangle shaped ports?

Im not talking about a conventional slot port, that uses walls of the box for part of the port. Im talking about a stand alone rectangle port.

I found a calculator at carstereo.com (http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31) and it has an option for 'Is this a slot port?' Do I pick yes? Or so I pick no?

Ive tried 2 size ports on this new box, and either sound as good as the slot ported box I have prior, of the same volume.

HELP! I wanna get this done :\

It seems as tho im missing all the UMPH I had before -- Does get as loud as it used to :\

a reqtangle port is calculated the same way as a slot port. the reqtangle port that is not using any wall of the enclosure will just take up more room in the box. thus making the box smaller in volume.

Yeah... just that page is unclear.

I made it without clicking on the 'Slot port' option, but changed it to Slot now and it sounds WAY better... so I just gotta tweak it a bit, seew hat sounds BEST>
