recone for audioque

has anyone reconed one of the old aq 4 spokes with a newer recone kit?the new drop in kits are like 35 dollars. handmade kit for old aq's are like 90 dollars.whats the difference?its the 2.5's btw. the only difference i know of is the motor for the new sdc is 140oz and the old is 100 oz's.
