yo im new to this groups and im looking to spend about $500 on a system, probably 300 on two 12"s and 200 on an amp. I've heard good things about alpine type R 12's, mtx 8000 12's, and kicker solobaric 12's. I'm wondering if yall have any other recommendations of some subs that'll run about $300 for both give or take a few. I want them to hit hard, and have atleast decent sq.

RE SE's- http://www.respl.com

Ignore the MSRP price, a pair of 12" can be had for around $300, call/email them...

And for an amp, you could do the JBL 1200.1- will do 1300 watts at 1 ohm, can be found for around $250-275

Don't get the 8000s, the Alpines are good, Solos require a hell of a lot of power. It is going to be said sooner or later so here I go.

RE or ED = good quality, excellent Sq, great SPL, very good price. Will be plenty for the normal everyday listener.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I got a pair of last year's 12" K's that the guy used for a week for $160 plus shipping off eBay.

Like jimmy said, great SQ, amazing SPL for what little power they need, and a price that beats the pants off almost all the other subs in their class, except for RE SE's. The SE's would have a little less SQ, but probably more SPL and definitely a bit more power-handling.

Both subs look cool too, and not everybody on the block has them.

Hope this (extremely biased yet accurate opinion from a satisfied customer of ED) helps! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

WOOHOO!!!! 300 POSTS W00T //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I would reccomend a single 12" or single 15" that costs around 300, if your not going to compete, I say quality over quantity //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
