I think a relatively cheap table saw will be ok to cut most thicknesses of MDF. my suggestion is to buy a cheaper table saw but get a decent blade from freud.

Is this just for the occasional box or do you plan on using it often.
If you are going to use it more than 2-3x a month I highly recommend saving up an extra 150-200 and buying a good one. If you will rarely use it than buy a circular say with guide.
Table saws that cost 200-300 are pieces of shit imo.
