RECOMMENDATIONS for 2 10's in a M3

You lose a tad bit on the area of the cone but that is really it. I dislike the way inverted subs look plus you lose a little bit or trunk area with those magnets hanging out, I'd rather get a larger box than have the magnets in the air.

only thing you would stand to gain inverting them is possible scratched up subs from putting stuff in your trunk remember deep 10's can be 7" or more deep add that to your box and you have a foot hanging down

As audio life said inverting actually takes up more space which is somthing im guessing you dont want in your M3 , The mounting depth o na RE SE 10 is 6 inches , however a Incriminator Audio Lethal injection 10 is 5 1/8" . Im sure there are other great subs out there but my current favorites are IA and Stereo Integrity to bad they never made 10's but who knows mayeb in the future. As far as RE SE against the IA LI the LI is a bit louder both have good SQ.

yah i dont realy want to lose all that trunk space.... so the Lethal injections are sounding like a good idea since they will fit in the box... how much are they??? and does anyone have a link for a good price on them??? are they power hungry??

thanks!

You do not lose any cone area, or overall displacement, when you mount a sub inverted. No idea where you got that one, as there is no way the cone gets smaller. If you mean because the motor is now in your way of viewing the cone, well its that way all the time, just usually that view is from inside the box. So clearly inverting the subs would not change this in any way.

Any particular reason why no one mentioned Image Dynamics subs, specifically the IDQ 10? I was going to purchase the Diamond CM3 for $90 from a local shop, but then saw the IDQ for $144 shipped from sounddomain.com right now.

i believe i did....

Sq subs to consider- Arc Kar 10's, Arc V2 10's, IDQ's, OZ Vectors, Diamond Audio CM3's, Alumapro Alchemy MX's, Rainbow Soundline 10's, Diamond M6's, Eclipse Aluminums

I figured that you would lose the center of the rear of the cone because the voicecoil is attached to it. If you had a 3 inch voice coil would you not lose that surface area? You are probably right but I thought I read that somewhere.

the woofer works bothways the same because the motor is a constant. if there is a diff at all im sure its only .1 db if that.
