Recommendations for 150RMS 2-ch amp to drive small sub

I'm going to get a shallow mount Kicker 8" for my trunk of my small old car.

I'm looking for something to drive it.

I'm not looking to break the bank.

As well I would like a crossover that I can adjust. Not a Fixed Hz crossover.

My goal is less then $150 for the amp and the speaker.

I've found a DUAL 2500 for about $50 and the speaker is about $50 as well.

just trying to see what you have for recommendations.

Don't need to THUMP although it is a convertible so a good solid sound would be nice.

Hummm an 8" entry(sort of) level sub in a convertible? You sure it's gonna make enough bass to make you happy when the tops are down?

Want cheap eh? Assuming that kicker sub is a single 4 ohm coil, get this...

You're not going to get much output with a shallow 8" sub. You can probably get a decent 10" or 12" for around the same price and grab a used 2 channel amp off ebay for about $50 and call it a day.

Hmmm.. 10? It is a 1986 Cabriolet VW it has a REALLY small trunk. Baiscally nothing.

I have already one amp back there.

So I was hoping to go compact. I remember having a 8" kicker in my 1992 Jetta years ago with 200W on it and it really delivered a nice sound.

Any suggestions appreciated.

I was thinking small as in a Honda Del Sol but your car is even smaller!

You could just buy one of those low profile amplified subwoofers if you haven't bought the Kicker yet. Parts express has this powered 10" sub on sale for $134 shipped.

^^^It is not really 900 watts RMS, my guess is it's around 250~400 watts.

things underrated, sounds amazing, just sold mine for like 30 bucks 2 someone local 2 power there kicker and it made it hit great, there 200watt kicker barely made it move

but u def dont want a shallow mount, id rather get a reg 8
