i did a ton of research on small SUV's last spring when my girlfriend was looking for one.

For an all around good vehicle, your best bet will probably be the rav 4 or ford escape. The rav 4 is a little nicer and does a little better on gas, wheras the ford escape is more basic, but a lot cheaper.

My girlfriend ended up getting the escape, and its a decent ride. It could definitely use some sound deadening on the floor though. This is coming from a guy with 200+sq ft of deader and almost 10sq yards of foam mat though.

Wow, another dummy. My Escape gets 23 MPG and has a V6 with plenty of power to get groceries home.
A Jeep anything is not good on gas. My Wrangler gets 8-10 MPG and it is a 01.

I don't know what year model yours is but "a good deal" I would imagine it's older model assuming aprox 2002, the average mpg is 18.

I never said a jeep was good on gas. but I can get 17 mixed and 19 on highway in my 1992 cherokee. plus I could drive circles around a escape in any road conditions, and have extra traction, torque, and speed to spare.

x2 my gf keeps complainging about road noise and i said we can probly spray some stuff under the car but i mean shit turn the music up and u cant hear it. and i vote for the escape we were wantiing somthin like ur wanting and got a 4cyl escape
