recommend me an amp for...

2 12" P1 rockford fosgates. right now i got them on a power acoustic 800watt bridged at 4 ohms. but latly the amps been cutting out at any volume. 8awg wiring for power/ground, 2farad cap, pioneer DEH-68000MP deck.

btw, im on a pretty tight budget.

thos p1's wont last long on much more than that. run at least 4ga wires. what amp is it (model #)?

just curious why do you have the 2farad cap? you probably dont need one considering you are not drawing too much from your electrical.

subs are pretty much brand new, 2 months maybe.

its kinda weird, one day they will sound just fine, no cuts at all, then the next day they will cut out randomly.

amp is cr800-2x.

i got the cap from a friend cause my lights we constantly dimming.

not hit at all. it seems like the amp just shuts off then it sputters back.

ive always had the gain on the amp all the way down. even at low volumes (10 or less on the deck) it cuts out

hmm.... could be bad amp. how are they wired to the amp? did you observe correct ohm wiring? is the amp going into protect? check your grounds (thats my answer for all amp probs...)

the subs are wired for 4 ohm and its a 2 ohm stable amp. i dont think its going into protect cause the green led just turns off when the stop hitting. the ground for the amp is wired to my engine block so i dont think its a bad ground.

the amp has been around the block a few more times then it should have. i got it from a friend who got it from a friend who got it from another person. im sure it goes farther than that but thats all i know.

i thought i knew what was good and what wasnt before i came here and seen everything everyone else had. i was looking into jbl/ the crown amps but im sure theres somthing a little cheaper.

heh, yeah. p1s aren't the sub of choice. try a different amp. are your wires at the amp tight?
