Recommend a 10

Ford Focus, running 500wrms Alpine Amp @2ohms and have a ported box with 1.25 cubic ft. Looking to spend $150 or so on a 10" sub to upgrade from the Type S that's currently in there. I'm looking for more SQ than SPL.

I can get a Sundown E10V3 for around $115 or a Sundown SA-10 for around $180. Anyone recommend anything any different or are one of these my best choices?

Going from one 10 to another, in the same box and power, will probably not yield a noticeable difference.

I beg to differ... I bet a sundown SA will be a nice upgrade from an alpine type s

My only reluctance with the SA is if I could sufficiently power it. It'll take 750rms easy and I'm only able to do 500 currently

If sq is your main focus the type s can sound great and probably a bit louder in a well designed box. Is your current box 1.25 before or after port and sub displacement? How much port area? What is the box tuning?
