Reasons for hot amp?

i had this amp. It likes to get hot. Just after awhile of good use it will get hot. Alpine amps mainly the V-power all get pretty hot

1000 watts is hard to pull without big three

Im running 1300 with an AQ2200D with two DC lvl 3's

alot less harsh than the MRP-M1000

No dimming with the AQ.

I had a ton with the MRP-M1000

like others have suggested, check your ground. if you think its good, it probably isn't. also, like everyone has said, amps get hot. thats just the nature of the beast. if your subs are getting hot (the cone) then im willing to bet you are pushing em too hard and clipping them.

Okay, my cones stay cool not warm at all since i set the gain, i was thinking running a 0ga wire from the neg battery to chassis and grind the ground some more.

amps get hot normally. If someone tells you their amp is not getting hot, it just means they can't sense it by the touch, but its hot.

Well kinda i mean i shaved off the metal and its on the floor of the trunk, but like i said under the hood where the neg wire goes to chasis is very small so i was thinking use to 0 ga and run it there also.v

Hahah sorry about that. I'm your age and had a 2 12" Type R setup less than 4 months ago. I think you are fine man. Every amp I've run has gotten hot and gains have been set correctly. Especially if the amp is in a place where the hear will not dissipate quickly, they can get pretty warm.
