Rear firing with large box concerns

I'm rear firing a Type R 15 in my 2003 Taurus. Box is 6.16ft^3. I have it approximately 5 inches away from the back of the trunk. There is no airspace above the box and only 4-5 inches on either side of the box. Is this a problem? Any suggestions for increasing db? Running it on a M1000 at 2ohms. The box is bolted to the trunk, my port is 3.5 inches wide, tuned to 34hz

Usually when I rear fire the closer to the trunk the more bass I hear in the cabin. Usually keep it about an inch or 2 away.

Okay, thanks. I was just worried about there not being enough space on either side of the box to allow the sound to come into the car, you know? Not sure if that's an issue.
