Rear fill nessesary yet?

So i just got my new car. A 95 Pontiac Grand Prix SE. I have installed the head unit already(Pioneer DEH-P7700MP), and am now looking to upgrade the speakers. I had pioneer 6x9's from my previous vehicle and im wondering if i should instal these, or sell them and buy a good set of components, or sub/amp. And yes, i have searched for threads about this topic and from what i can see having rear fill in a four door is more important then most other cars. However im wondering if i should focus my money/time on a good fronstage and lowend, before i worry about upgrading the rear 6x9's. All opinions and reccomendations are welcome and appreciated

Thats what i was thinking. The thing is...the car is mint bassically and i do not want to eff up any of the pannels or instal kickpannels . Any ideas? i was thinking my only option is the tri axle(correct me if im wrong) setup where the tweeter is attached to the mid bass like a coaxial, so i can install it in the stock location without any cutting panels. As it seems to me however, there are limited companies that offer this sort of setup..so could a custom bracket be fabricated(with limited tools) to serve this purpose?

I think it's a matter of personal preference. I drive an Explorer and I'm perfectly fine with just components up front and nothing in the rear doors. Somepeople like it though. For me, it just muddled the soundstage.

I'd get a good set of comps for the front, amp to power them and a amp to push a sub in the trunk. (i'd stick with comps instead of coaxial or triaxial or braxial)

when you get an amp for the fronts get a 4 channel amp so you can add rear speakers later if you want.

there are a few companies that do that...braxial is what CDT calls it. http://www.cdtaudio.com there are others too.

I have the EF-61CV set, which lets you mount the tweeter coaxially if you want.

I have heard that with correct time alignment, the rear fills don't interfere with the front stage. I haven't tapped the full resources of my eclipse 8053 yet, but plan to very soon.

"Rear fill" wont interfere with your front stage (much) if its done properly, but it usually isn't. Properly means bandpassed (mids only, no highs, no tweeters, etc) and attenuated (reduced output). IOW a proper rear fill would be component mids (only) playing midrange freqs only, and at a reduced volume. Running 6x9's full range off the headunit's amp is not "rear fill", even though that's what alot of people like to call any rear mounted speaker setup.

Just an FYI if you are really considering rear fill.

You should keep the speakers. You will find that second hand interior speakers don't fetch much of a price. You may get $20 for the pair.(if your lucky)

Alright, that cleared alot up, but i do have a few questions. So it would be best to run midd's in the stock location as the 6x9's are off an external amp, and leave all the highs, for my frontstage? What do you mean when you say run the midds at a reduced volume? And what driver/amp would you rercromend to use.

Ya man, i was checkin those out, however i dont have 500-600 to blow, im looking to spend 250 give or take. Any one know of any similar speakers...or anyone selling any boston acoustics for fairly cheap?

If I was you do what alcoholic said and do the mids in the back door, then a sweet componet set up front. Then get a nice amp and viola, your all set. I would recommend the spx 177 type x Alpine componets for your front. But I think you have 6.5's in front if I am correct. So they have those in type x as well. Very smooth and can get loud. I also did some research and read some reviews on the Elemental design's components and they look like a great product. How do the 6000s stack up to the 6500's? In the price range would there be any other components/ mids that would out perform the 6000's in the front, and the Eu-700's in the back. And what would be a good amp to match with these speakers?

Keep in mind my buget is in canadian dollars i want to keep it under around 400-500 for speakers+amp. Any other suggestions are appreciated
