This is my first post so.......Hi my name is Scott, nice to meet you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I just installed an Alpine CDE-100 in my car. I bought it to use with USB drive. I have knowledge sufficient to install a car stereo, but am still beginner level I guess.
I installed it an everything worked.
I then hooked up my USB drive and was listening to music, and I slowly noticed (I keep sub level very low) that my subwoofer was not working.
I looked at my amp, and it was not getting power. Through the process of elimination I got down to the remote wire - I think that is what it is called - either way it is the blue one that the deck uses to tell the amp to power on. I checked the splice and then the amp and sub started working again. But I removed the USB drive to remove the deck and tested it on radio.
Then when I turned on the USB drive, the amp powered off.
So as far as I can tell, the deck stops sending signal to the amp through the remote wire when I select the USB source. This seems REALLY weird to me. Right off the bat, I thought that this deck is defective. How could switching sources affect power to the amp?
Anyone have insight on this?
Thanks you very much.
