NO.. you are way out of line here. Being "entitled" to something like a car, a job, welfare money, etc... is one thing. Health care is something all together different. It is a human right. Granted many countries can not afford to offer this right to its inhabitants but many more countries (even those surviving on shoestring budgets) manage to provide health care free of charge or for very little money for those that need it. The US is the ONLY developed country in the world that does not provide this fundamental resource, and at this same time happens to be the richest (not per capita) but in general.
I agree with you that people should earn what they get but we are talking about health care and fundamental livelihoods.
There are MILLIONS of people in this country that bust their A$$ES off working 2 and 3 jobs trying to "earn their lives for them selves". And many of these families, some having children with both parents working 2 jobs JUST TO PAY HEALTH CARE PREMIUMS. Before you make some generalized remark that you just did about "earning" health care, think about it a bit more. Fuk it... shut down EVERY federal and state program that hands out money to people that dont deserve it or are taking advantage of the system (if it can be proven). But respect the ideology that health care should be a right regardless of your relative wealth, relative work ethic, religious beliefes or even giant douchbaggery. It is health care. And considering that americans in general (including all that work their ases off) are the most unhealthy population in the developed world... we should be even more agressive in making sure universal health care is provided.
