reading ohms on subs?

So i am checking the ohms on my subs and they are dual 4 Ohm but when i read it with a DDM it reads 3.5...does that mean fried coil?

On most subs, the ohm reading isn't exact to what the sub says it is.....after impedance rise, it would be closer to 4.

reading low is fine it's when it reads high you need to worry low is most likely there for box rise

A 4 ohm coil is never exactly 4 ohm. It's usually just under 4 ohms. If you have access to the T/S specs the coil resistance is listed as Re.
