Reading coils?

My subs are hooked up right now, but do I need to cut or unhook the wires that are wired in order to read the coils on the sub?

Do the subs need to be completely unhooked to take an accurate reading?

I'd imagine I have to, but just asking before I waste my time.

You can read the overall ohm load, as long as you know what ohm load it SHOULD be, read the coils and if the ohm load is what it should be, all coils are fine. it'll be + a couple tenths of an ohm due to the extra resistance in the wires.

yeah im lookin to check my one of my 15's for trade

want to make sure the coils are fine which they should be

the ohm load on the amp is 2 ohm which it should be but i doubt that mean anything?

If the overall load on the amp is reading what it should be, your good. If a coil was damaged, it would seriously skew the overall ohm load. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
