I'm getting ready to throw all of this in my 2000 Grand Cherokee. I can't wait to hear these IA LI's because they look amazing. The last system I had used Kicker CVRs which are crap IMO and a Cadence amp which was also junk. That stuff all got stolen last summer so I've been riding around with nothing for a while. I'm going to throw these 12's in a ported box with about 4.5 cubes at 32hz or so. Here is what I have:

2 12" IA Lethal Injections D4

Pioneer DEH-P6000UB

Hifonics 1608D

Knuconcepts KLM 1/0 gauge power and ground

12 gauge Knuconcepts speaker wire

250 amp ANL fuses and fuse holder

Gonna do the Big 3 in 4 gauge for now but may upgrade to 1/0 in the future. The Grand Cherokee has a 137amp alt stock if IIRC so hopefuly it will hold up. If not we'll see what comes next in the way of batts or H/O alt. My Jeep has the Infinity sound system so hopefully it will keep up with the subs for now.

lucky guy.

btw, CVRs are sweet, you must not have known what you were doing with them
I had them in a sealed box with a little over 1 cube each and they sounded okay. I threw them in a ported box 4.5 cubes net at 30 hz and they were okay on most songs but I was not impressed. They were getting 500 watts each (rated anyway). It was in an Audi A4 so not the optimal setup. The Cadence amp was okay for the money but when I opened it up it just looks cheap.

On another note a good friend of mine had 2 MTX 5500 in a ported box in his explorer. They actually sounded really good considering what they are and they were only getting like 300 watts each. He got a little too gain happy and blew them and they were replaced with CVRs. The truck sounds like absolute garbage now so I have heard them in a 1 for 1 swap. They are not bad considering what they cost and they do get loud but I will never own anything Kicker again. I have heard them in numerous setups and they never sound "good" just loud.

Now please let's not make this a thread about whether CVRs are good subs or not even though I am playing into it lol.

you have to understand many MANY people here have run CVR's (I just took one out my ride last night) and have had very VERY good results with them. So then the question becomes is the majority wrong or are you wrong? And if it is you that is wrong, the question then is how did you make CVR's sound bad? Just a view from the masses. It doesn't matter, what matters is your new stuff is cool

I guess saying they are crap was a little over the top. I just wasn't impressed. They didn't sound bad they just sound like a budget sub which is what they are. They did great on certain songs and just sounded like crap on others. I would have experimented with different boxes and tuning but everything got stolen. I was gonaa try a bigger sealed box next as they sounded better sealed to me. I can't say I was totally dissatisfied with them.

On another note half this forum runs Type R's and many people hate them and think they sound like crap. All a matter of opinion I think. I know plenty of guys who DD SPL only subs and love it but that's not something I would do. To each their own and as long as you're happy with your setup then who care right.

Thanks for the compliments on the new setup I hope it does what I think it will. These IA subs look like they are built incredibly well and the price can't be beat.

i agree with the cvrs being bass on a budget subs, but give kicker more of a chance. they make amazing amps and subs. you wont find many people that are not satisfied with some kind of kicker product. i think you would be happier with there amps, as far as subs, the solo baric's are the way to go....but anyways nice setup im jealous if the IA subs get it installed and get a build log going so we can see!!!!

I had 8 gauge on my CVRs and it kept popping out of the terminals. I was reading around and it seemed like 12 gauge would be more than enough so I hope that's the case. Glad someone agrees with me about CVRs. I like their amps but most of them aren't 1 phm stable technically right, and they are not cheap that's for sure. I wanted an SAZ-1500 but I didn't have the cash.
