If that was while playing then thats is crazy box rise but possible. If you have a bad connection to the sub-sub to box-box to amp, can cause resistance
Was it playing when you checked it? If so that's normal. It goes up depending on frequancy and other things. It won't be 4 but for milliseconds at a time
Test the wires coming from the sub either with the amp off or with the wires disconnected from the amp. If the amp is on, playing, etc it will change the reading you're getting. As the sub moves, the ohm reading will change...so don't push on the cone or have it face down when testing.
Dear God, you CANNOT measure impedance with an ohmmeter with a sub playing nor with it connected to an amplifier. You people need to stop giving advice around here immediately.
