Ok, Bought the 2000W amp and Im not even running it at max power, I am actually just running it at 800W per sub (RMS) . I bought a really cheap amp kit cuz I was in dispair and broke and wanted to hear my system. It would really really thunder hard and then get weaker. In my cousins car.. his amp kit wasnt a cheap POS like mine, and his power wire ((4g)) was larger inside then my ((4g)) which was more shielding than wire.

I noticed one very particular thing: With these cheap @$$ RCA jacks was on my amp. The subs sounded like shit and low volume. I moved them a bit and wala sounded alott louder.

With this said here is my question:

HOW MUCH EFFECT can wiring have on your amplifier ?

Smaller guage that still works will cause ?

Bad or cheap POS Vrs. Quality RCA will ??

AND A NEW BATTERY replacing a seriously old one will ??

are you running the same deck? if he has a deck with 4v preouts and you have a deck with 2v then his will sound better off the bat.

with the power wire you want around 4 gauge anyways. usually the way it is measured is with th size of wire not the shield around it.

and rca's dont matter that much twisted pairs are alittle better at rejecting any kind of noise. but you can make your own rca with 2 14 gauge wires and have it sound better then some that you can buy.

also what gauge speaker wire are you using for you amp to your sub. if it is small that can cause a problem also.

and did you find a good ground for the amp? or if you want to spend the extra money run the ground from the amp to the battery.

Ok, is there anyway you can re-amp the pre-amp RCA output ??? to achieve higher volume levels .

ALso, would shorter RCA cable be choice for max volume ???

Speaker wire.... errrr.... From the amp to the subs its about 2ft.. inside the box smaller wire from the terminal to sub.

its 14guage low oxygen wire: This is the wire from the amp to the box:

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=2168511

from inside the box to the subs .. I believe its same size wire... but not the same stuff as shown.

The RCA cable I have, is like 30ft long also... wouldnt that cause voltage loss ?? and shorter RCA = more audio power.

??

I know this shit can hit way harder and it does for short periods.

Running the ground to the battery is the worst thing you can do, you want the ground to be as short as possible.
Its one thing to be wrong, but another to be so blatently wrong.

There is NOTHING wrong with running a direct ground back to your battery as long as it is the same (or larger I suppose) guage. Its just not worth the extra effort in *most* cases.

it gives you the best ground possible. you are not going throught he entire car instead you are going through the cable to the battery.

it also helps you car to replace all the grounds in the engine like from the battery to the chasses and to the alternator

ground to batt is good for least possible resistance (as opposed to ground to batt via chassis).

long wires tend to help build up resistance.

see the quandry?

Ive heard sound difference in clarity at full bass .... my cousin buys two power wires same size and runs them to and from the battery each system he gets. He swears on everything thats the only way he will do it. **sad to say, he doesnt know much about audio , nothing about ohms ... etc.. all from the EAR ! so .. thats pretty convincing to me, and I have understand ohms law greatly.

SO this grounding issue, Ive made my mind already. However, I havent ohm'd the line out yet to see if its more resistance back to the battery. I always assumed direct ground to the battery by all means would be the best ground.. in electronics a ground is a ground ... but, resistance of ground of the amp thorugh the car would be more resistance than direct line to the battery.

I seriously have heard a difference in sound quality. But again, it could just be me and my cousin set in our ways !

My issue really isnt so muhc grounding.. its power output. The amp thunders in my cousins car, and his amp produces same output, but his battery is brand new.

he has an old *** JVC. I have a brand new out the box Pioneer 4600

The RCA's im using made by *LEGACY* peice of shits have a ground on them.. I never seen or thought a ground was needed on a pair of RCA's . Plus, the RCA chords made by legacy I bought are 30ft long.. would this cause such drastic sound being low.

His RCA is made by Scorch from ((walmart audio kit)) .. its alott short , looks nicer in quality.

could this be the reason ??

mine is a 3.5 volt not the 5v out, but with such long long RCA's I know its having voltage loss by the time it gets to the amp....

I changed power guage etc... HUGE DIFFERENCE.. ran another power wire to the ground so amps running off my brand new high capacity battery //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif bigger difference.

I dont know why but my amp ((very in-efficiant)) at 4ohms bridged is suppose to produce 2000W , logically we all know it wont be that high, but how come it hits harder when I take each channel to its own induvidual speaker at 2ohms. I know the load is cut by half but still... **I got mad bridge the amp to 1ohm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif it hammered like hell and went on protect** but it sounded great ! LOL... im gonig to simply put this one in my chicks car .... ive gotten power hungry.
