I was for many weeks fighting poor speaker sound in both my front doors and rear panels. I was experiencing sub par performance in speakers that should just rock but instead I got low sound, no depth, some popping and can ackling at higher volumes. For the life of me I couldn't figure out what was causing my problem. It started right after I put a new amp in. I called tech support with no such luck, I tried posts which didn't prevail either. I changed my rca's, checked and recheck my ground, my wiring from front to back and nothing worked. Finally I took an old speaker and hooked it up directly to the amp bypassing the wiring harness I used from Crutchfield. Wouldn't you know it the speaker sounded great just like it should. Here was my problem and maybe for some of you who either don't know this or just didn't think of it I hope that this helps. My vehicle came with the Infinity sound system in it and I didn't know that it also had a factory amp tucked up under the passenger side by the glove box. I unplugged the amp, ran wire from each speaker to the amp which I know I should have done in the first place but at the time I really wasn't looking forward to doing such a big job. Once I did run my wires my stereo rocked and thumped like I was hope for. What a difference, now my polk's and my new amp are doing just what they should be doing. I hope that I'm not the only one out there that didn't realize his factory amp was screwing him? I have read alot of posts where people are experiencing a majority of the same problems I was. Do you have a factory amp stuffed in there somewhere. I think it's a safe bet if you have more than four places for speakers already there then maybe just maybe you have an extra amp somewhere. I hope that this helps someone out there. It feels so good to finally figured it all out. Good luck to all on your installs.
