RE8's or eD700's

I would be running a pair of either as my sup setup. I have very limited space but will be building a custom box for whichever i choose. Thy would be runnig off a soundstream van gogh 400.2. 100 X 2 @ 4, 200 X 2 @ 2, 400 X1 @4. Which have the potential to be louder while still being completely clean? Which would you go with on that power? Sealed or ported? for 95% rock/alternative music. I do want it to be able to provide a GOOD low end but the goal is good SQ, this will in no way be a DB drag car or even an annoyance at a traffic light. Thanks guys.

I have a pair of eu700's in a 1^3 box @29hz. Pretty good lowend for some small drivers. I almost only listen to rap/hip-hop.

In my car right now is a pair of old RF punch XLC 8's sealed in 1^3. Their sound is good overall as well. But I miss the lowend of the ported eu's.

If I were choosing between them I'd probably go with the RE8's and port them.

the eu700s .. i have the dual 2 ohm .. so i have them each getting 200rms at 2 ohms..

the RE 8's would be so much louder than the ED's, that the difference in SQ would be completely worth it...

RE 8's in 1 cuft tuned to 32hz will get off...
