daily driver, spl setup, street bumps...what?

thats about right for killer street output...but wouldnt sound the best for sq, or have the most output either...

I would say...

best thing to do, is build you (or borrow) a sealed box. toss one of the subs youre gonna use in there, and measure the frequency response in your car, and outside (in an abandoned parking lot (if you can find one) or if there's an anechoic booth you have access to. there should be a peak right between 50 and 55 hz...that shows up on both of the rta printouts (when you lay one on top of the other) and thats your resonant frequency. then use winisd. figure out what the biggest possible box you can build is, and tune it so that the peak is right at the resonant frequency (dont tune it TO the resonant frequency, cuz it will peak wrong, and youll lose output)...

bottom line...bigger box, perfect port, bigger peak.

i think they call it 'hazing'...everybody makes fun of the new guy.

the frequency response is measured on an rta (real time analyzer) and you should be able to get a print out of the peaks/dips. your car will naturally have a few of them at various frequencies. the peak in the 50 hz area is the most popular...and im guessing b/c its where the sub has the most effectiveness (as far as output)...the other guys (bigbassman, and black00, and a few others could likely explain it better, as im just working my way into spl...im an sq freak, soon to be bassmonkey)

best bet is to go to tweeter and tell them you need to find out exactly what your resonant frequency is...and go from there.

Well my man if your going for straight SPL just like the wemon say bigger IS better. You just gotta know what to do with the box, test out different hz ranges, different amounts of port space. are you a good carpenter? if so then building the boxes wont be a problem if your not then it might get kinda expensive. Your best bet might be a daily driver box built to what RE says.
