That helps me a lot as I'm planning on buying either a 15" XXX or D2. I noticed that the overall height is 16 outside dimension, so the internal dimensions are 14.5 high, will a 15" fit in this?

The cutout for the 15" XXX is 14 1/8" and the basket isnt even that wide, so yes, it will fit.

Out of curiosity, WinISD is showing a port length of 41.55" for a 15.5" x 3" port at 23Hz in a 5cuft box... why the discrepancy?

Would the screws go into the basket of the sub since the end of the box is about an inch away from the sub, if u screwed the front baffel in on the sides of the box instead of through the front baffel itself...this is kinda hard to explain

I left screws out from the front to the top and bottom for that reason. Then when I screwed the sub in, I used 2.5" machine screws to secure the sub and the front to the top.

you should be able to screw in the top and bottom screws even if they go into the top sheet of mdf, as long as you dont split it

All of RE's woofers have the same cutout ... for example a 15" SE cutout is the same as the 15" HC and even the 15" XXX ... at 14 1/8". Likewise for the 10's, 12's, and 18's, just different diameters.

So yes, the 15" HC would work in a box 'made' for a 15" XXX.

I think the 15" HC will enjoy the 4 cubes. I liked the 4.25ft^3 my single 15 was in.
