anybody know the best way to ship a sub. i was thinking about a wooden box and basically screwing the sub down.
either crate it with 3/4 ply and 2x3's plus a mounting board to screw the sub onto, OR use trashbags and the low expansion version of great stuff to make styrofoam molds. Either way, the goal is to completely immobolize the sub, protect it from impacts and keep it from getting scratched.

if you want to do the crate, build something like this:

crate.jpg

I built that crate and can testify that it was EXTREMELY solid. DHL still managed to break the piece of wood that the sub was mounted to, but it arrived (IN CANADA) in perfect shape regardless. If i did it again i'd do it exactly the same, except i'd add packing peanuts to take some of the stress off of the wood, and add some protection.

If you crate it, make sure the dimensions of the crate and box are such that the crate just BARELY fits...

if i had the cash i would buy that amp right now. its exactly what im looking for. 1000 watts rms @ 2 ohms!

hey if u still have it fs by next friday, consider it sold to me.
