RE SX12 how does it compare with an Adire Brahma12? What to expect?

i dont know how to read vas, fs, and all those other parameters. I used to have a brahma12 so thats the only good sub my ears know well.....oh, and an alpine type R 12 too. Im getting a SX so i was wondering what to expect. More SPL and less SQ? I probably shouldve researched more before picking up the SX but i got it for about 200 shipped so i just went with it. Gonna have the SX in about 2.25cuft ported n tuned at 34hz, running about 1200 watts.

An SX is an inferior sub to a Brahma in my eyes. The SX will likely get slightly louder (depending on the situation), but the Brahma would sound better the whole time.

Also, you are comparing a BL optimized sub to a tradition motor design. The difference in BL distortion alone will greatly affect their sound differences.

i may be dissappointed then. i saw your posts on the CSS 15 that uses a slightly better brahma motor, that looks nice esp with the pricetag. Have you heard those subs yet?

IMO, the SX sounds like *** when you give it a lot of power. Yeah it's loud, but if you like the brahma, I don't think you'll like the SX.

IMO the sx's get loud and still sound great with the right box. i had my 15 in 31 hz it did great

i thought RE put out good sound quality subs even if they put out one on the SPL side. I thought the SX would at least be a shade of SQL but it seems its purely SPL? I hate sloppy subs!

On the other hand how does it compare to the Type R? Thats what i was gonna go with originally for this setup

I dont think Ive heard an sdx15 yet no.

3 cubes sealed or ported? i was gonna go large with the ported box, like 2.5 cubes but some people were against it saying it would sound muddy. I think thats the first ive read about someone going with 3 cubes for a sx12.

well the sx12 plan is scrapped cuz the guy i bought from tells me its like 170 more to ship that and the amp so im gonna get a refund and look into something else...100-200 dollar range
