How much power does this sub take (the ten)? Basically what would the amp wattage be? Do they sound just as good ported, or will i still be better off with the 12w6v2? Lastly, is the SX the sub that has the RE on it?

1000 watts.

They're loud...really loud actually, was not impressed with SQ however, especially compared to my A.

I understand that they are loud, and while i would love to have that, I have heard the 12w6v2, it was a single and it sounded great to me. I want to know if the 10 SX would be comparable in any way? And what the recommended wattage is, because I dont want to get an amp huge enough to power the 12 SX. Anyone have a 10SX, is it ported, how do you like it, and what amp are you using to run it?

The JLw6v2 will have better SQ than the SX. It is geared more for SQ.

If you were to get the SX it would not be far behind in the SQ aspect. But it will be far ahead in SPL. If you do get it buy a 1200 watt amp. They can take more than 1000 if you know what your doing, and you could always play safe and have the gain down.

I was not thrilled with the SQ of the sx at all to be honest. My A gets much lower and is more accurate, with less power. The sx gets loud, but IMHO it doesn't sound that great in comparison.....it has been a while since I've played with other drivers however since I've been at school, so maybe it sounds good compared to different stuff.

my 12 runs off a viper 1200.1 getting 1200 watts. its really loud in my ported box

If you want SQ get the XXX not the SX.
