RE subs

Well budget is a concern here. I am wanting to spend under 250 for the amp and about 300 for the subs. I just want something that will rattle the dishes in my house. Lets see here....I can get a Hifonics Brutus 1500D (I think thats what it is) that pushes out 1000 watts at 2 ohms for about around 200-250 dollars. Could I run a 15" XXX off of that? I wouldnt mind paying 300 r 400 for a single 15 that will slam like a fother mucker.

But I have a concern here. I change vehicles more than I change my underwear. what will I need to do to power the Brutus amp? I KNOW I will need a cap but can I get away with getting a deep cycle battery and a cap and will run ok without my lights dimming real bad. My guess is that my alt only puts out about 60-70 amps...thats my Nissan...I had to sell the Cadi (gas prices). I think for now...I will stick to either eD or RE RE's.

ok ok I get it. So if my alt aint "up to par" the cap will only make the problem worse. So I should spend 50-100 bones getting the alt beefed up along with a deep cycle battery. How much should I get the alt beefed? 90 amps? 100 amps? I only want to spend about around 70 bones on a deep cycle battery. I think I can live without the optima yeller top. I might just grab the deep cycle battery I have on my tractor //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif . Do note that I am going to be doing a lot of city and night driving so I might not have my system up in the city but I will have it up pretty good on the highway at night. I just need to know what I can do to keep my lights from dimming and everything working properly.

Upgrade your alternator to a HO Alt and upgrade your battery. A new HO Alt is usually a better option than re-winding your current alt.

However, I'd hook the system up first and see how your electrical system handles it. Might not be as bad as you think, or it might be worse. Just no telling without actually having it up and running.
