hi! first post to this great forum

I have some questions about re audio calculator.. box volume(ft3) is total internal volume including port volume right?

Re recommends 1cuft, is it internal or external?



I tried to design something like this, so

-around 13-15sq port area

-and around 34-36hz tuning is good for using this sub daily i think? I hate the port noise so your comments are really important for me

(should I make flared corners etc. can it make a big difference?)

That's 1cuft Internally...

... I would do 1.5cuft internally @ 43... Just a lil' bigger than recommended never hurts.

port area is confusing too.. what number should it be?

Do in the low 30's if thats what you listen to.

30-32 for anything but electronic is good.

Cone size should not reflect tuning and vice versa.

Which is exactly the point. Tuning high is suited for very, VERY few musical genres. For most, low 30s are ideal.
