Re Sr 12

Shiva X would do very very well in a home theater setup, the AE TD drivers as well as the AV's would do well also. The SR would just not have enough low end to be used as a home theater sub.

well i figured it would be a good upgrade from what i have now which is a explode on 190 watt plate amp.surprisingly it gets pretty loud and sounds good on my yamaha reciever that has 4 volt preout.the box its in is 2.3 cubes @ 36 and it slamms the lows in the house no shit.so i figured if this combo sounds like it does, then a 500w dayton amp and the re sr would be real nice...at least im hoping ? surely the explode cant out do a re sr ?

guess the real question here is,will i gain performance with the sr over the xplode ? i know it seems like a stupid question, but i need to know cause the home theater is the only time ive used the xplod and dont know too much about them except people say they are shit lol,i just dont understand why it sounds good im my setup.i would keep it as it is as it does a fine job with movies, but when i want to crank the music up,the poor lil plate amp gets kinda hot hence the reason i want to upgrade to the dayton 500 and put a more capable sub to match it,and i want to stay with car audio subs and it seems the sr might do the job .so whatcha think ?

i looked at the shiva x and i dont like it,forgot to mention that the sub will allso be for loud bass music.i'm running 2 loudspeakers which that are only 150 w rms each, small 8 for center speaker, and two towers for surround.my reciever directs all low frequencies to the sub.this xplod has me so dumbfounded at its performance,i'm seriously thinking of just upgrading to the black one.maybe it has something to do with the sub's frequency being 35hz and my box is 36hz.it really doesnt make sense to me how this sub is able to perform like this off of this yamaha.i like re obviously and if i thought i would gain some output instead of losing,i would get the sr as im still undecided.the sub preout is the only one that has 4 volts, the rest of the channels are like 250mm volts,so the sub is very important plus i want it to look and sound good.if i wasnt upgrading plate amps,i would just keep what i have.there will be times when i want to pump the bass on music and this cheap plate amp i fear will fry.so i need the best car sub to match the dayton 500 rms watt plate amp.allso the xplod is a single 4 ohm and i would have to get a D2 coil sub which allso i dont know if the single coil or the dual coil works best in this scenerio.i have thought about a rack mount amp but that would be a lil much lol.so its come down to the sr or black face xplod.i really need some input on the sr.....

EDIT; guess i'll go with the pioneer premier ts-w1207d2 thanks for the tried help
