ok, got an 04 ext cab dodge dakota. the cab is built perfectly to fit mtx's box plan for 2 7515's ported, but i can get 2 RE se 15's for cheaper but i dont think i can fit a box big enough for them to meet their potential. which would be best? im leanin toward the mtx but i just dont wanna regret not getting the RE's. please help!

i dont have that much room im willing to give up. the mtx tech specs box design fits perfect where i want it, 2 15's would be 48 wide 16 tall and 17.375 deep, its 2.48^ft before port which is 38hz. the re calls for 4^ft each.

what do you want, two mtxs or two re's. in the car audio world its quality not quantity. everyone here will say the re is better. for your need as far as space goes, make the box taller or something. two re's would be way better. the res dont need 4 cubes each mang. mid 3s or a lil smaller it doesnt matter theyd still out do the mtxs. just dont suffocate them to much. if anything seal the shit

ok. i could prolly sacrifice a 6.41^ft box port included. would the re sound louder tuned to 38hz rather than 32-34?

dude i have to say this. the mtx 8500 is my ALL time fav sub. a lot of people on here just love FI, RE or audioque...do whichever you like or whatever amount of space youd like to use. either will bang.

yes but hes asking about the 7500 series

any who, ive owned a 15" RE SE and well, im very sad i sold it. ive also had a MTX 7512 and it was a pretty good sub, but the se would walk allover it. yes i understand there 2 differnt sizes, but the SE just sounded so **** good, and took twice its power rating all day long. if space is a concern i would build a 3 cu ft box for the RE SE tuned to 36Hz. i sold it to a kid and build that box for him and it sounded grate! if you can afford even more space 3.75 tuned to 32-34 is ideal. also i have a box plan ill give you if you run the SE. its the same box i built for the kid i sold it to. its 17 high,15 deep and 32 wide. let me know!

ok thanks, ive already got a box planned, its gonna be about 3.2^ft each and i dont know what im goin to tune the port to yet. i had a box tuned to 32hz before and it was loud but not on the mic. figured little higher would do better. yea i was wanting the RE the whole time...plus they would be cheaper than the mtx. lol

would you mind pming me the specs on those plans?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

3 cu ft at 36hz, 2.5X15.5" port. theres the specs. it sounded great, the kid had about 800watts to work with. there was no port noise what so ever, it got down pretty low, and was well suited for his musical tastes
