RE recones.

sure whoever lives in san diego, pm me your phone number..

However I might be attending the dbdrag this sunday.

By Low and High I meant the bass knob.

This new sub is stronger at LOW(on t h e b a s s k n o b) than my old RE MT on HIGH(o n t h e b a s s k n o b). It is like having 2 18"s RE MTs.

You know what lets just say RE IS BETTER and leave it at that. I have no time and energy to argue on the internet about this anymore.

i'll believe this "louder than an MT" business when i see valid tests, not assumptions and snake oil.

oh, and while i'm at it, exton24s, the day that one 18" makes me pee my pants is the day i quit proclaiming to be a basshead. ask bigbassman, ask "Mr. Ho Problems" Tommy McKinnie, ask TeamPSI or IA Nick or a multitude of others that i hang out with...i've helped build world record holding vehicles and the woofers that were ran in them. bottom line, IMO, is that your woofer is hyped up and ugly as hell, and i'm just sorry that you've let yourself be blinded by the claims of the guy selling you the recone

and i'm out this b!tch

wow, just wow. the bass boost is something that is not meant to be used at all unless you just want loud distortion. why do all the dumb ones have such nice stuff? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Its on my headunit.

Its under setting in the avn 6600.

States Subwoofer level and goes from 1 to 4.

GAME OVER MAN, Game over!

There is a reason RE uses the thicker heavier cone that they do use.

Readup on how moving mass effects the overall output and response of the woofer.

Not to mention with that thin *** pro sound cone, in any type of application where there is a decent amount of pressure involved your going to fold it quicker then a 2 / 7 off suit combo when playing an intense game of texas hold'em.

You cant just make almost 200 grams disappear without shit going down hill...that thing has to peak like hell and sound like a midbass driver on crack.

It might be more efficient..but i'd love to see the REAL response curves in a vehicle with that soft part arrangement.

No, that's technically a level adjustment for the subwoofer output on the headunit. A bass boost knob increases the level of the signal the most at a single frequency, a level controller such as on his headunit adjusts all frequencies evenly. They are different things, Noobx.

As long as he set his gain properly on his amp (i.e. with the level all the way up), then he's free to use it as he wishes without any ill effects (assuming he doesn't turn the volume up to a level that causes the preamp output to clip, not personally sure at what point that occurs on those decks as I've not tested it).

Anyways...you guys can piss and moan about who's right and who's wrong. But the fact of the matter is that if he's happier with the new assembly, then that's all that matters. You can all argue till you're blue in the face....but if he's happier, then he's happier.
