Re Mt Ftmfw

i love my MT's, but i wouldnt mind trying some loaded BTL's

just wondering what kind of boxes has everyone used theirs in daily? and what was your favorite

still trying to think if i like this 10cube at 33hz one, but it has some mean lows //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

I've tried my MT 18 in the following boxes...all tuned between 32-35 hz...

1) 3.0 cu. ft

Peaked around 46-48 hz in my Rav4. Lacked some low end grunt...40 to 50 hz was crazy

2) 6.5 cu. ft

Super loud lows and still loud middle region

3) 7.5 cu. ft

Super loud on the lows with good middle region

I'm going to try a 6 cu. ft. box next (and will probably stay with that) I need the space for extra equipment!!

im thinking of going with 7 cube net box, tuned to 34/35hz, ive heard from a few people that the new explorers peak high 30's, so i think 34/35hz tuning would be good, how much port would you guys try? i have 150sq in now

i will know tomorrow,im metering it on the term lab and see if it hurt me any or helped.and yes it sounds better for music this way because it tuned it lower.
Nice, keep us posted...

You're right tuned lower due to less port area...you must have gained usable airspace back as well then?

Man your 5 cube box looks bigger than my 6 cube box (but mine only has 100 inches of port)

well done testing with the smaller port area, lost 1 db,so thats no good,so i put it back to the oringinal port area.
Holy!!

Specs? What was the score and at what frequency?

How much port area between the 2 setups?

What tuning were the 2 setups?

original setup is 187 sq in of port, peaks on the term at 44 hz,does 150.3 with 4500 watts

second setup is 93 sq in of port, still peaked at 44 on the term, done 149.1 with 4500 watts

box is only about 4.5 cubes after displacement.
