Re-doing the rear of the car, couple pics for the heck of it.

So, I sent my dvd player in last week to get repaired (the motor was damaged on the flip out portion), and since I've been meaning to work on my whole install, I figured I'd start it today. I'm pretty much doing everything in the rear of the car, ie: fix the trunk rattle, deaden what I can with the 6 sq ft I have left, re-run ALL wires, and make an amp wall. I finished the wall up earlier and will post pics later. In the meantime, I just wanted to comment on how happy I am that the car has multiple holes in the seat/trunk interface. It's allowed me to easily run the wires without them being in the way and tangled up everywhere. Just wish I didn't have 17' RCA cables, but they're too expensive to buy 3 shorter sets just because they're too long. To top it off, I just got an e-mail from the service center, and my DVD player was shipped back today. Expected delivery is next Wednesday...a day I'm out for break anyway! Right now, I'm pumped! :thumb:

Edit: A couple pics for the moment. I quit working cause I'm hungry and it's cooooold. Just have to get some rubber washers from Home Depot and put the amps on tomorrow.

Inside. Wires are ran, and everything looks pretty tidy.

Left side is for the JL 1000/1 and the right is for my alpine 4-channel. I used black fleece. $6 for 2 yards with my special little coupon, haha. You can make out the 4" L-brackets I used on the bottom sides. I put them in the vice and hammered them to where they were approximately the same angle as the seat backs.

After I get the amps placed on the wall, I'm going to carpet the subwoofer box, and then use up the rest of my deadener on the trunk.

Yea, I took the pictures in the dark. Just wanted to snap a couple for the heck of it. It looks messy now, but when I'm done it should look ten times better than it was before. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I used to have the speaker amp laying against the side of the car, no lie. I needed some way to secure them, and the sub box is way too big to do a traditional rack. So, I went with this idea. Also, the rear seat is out so that will cover up most of those wires in the back. I'll post up some pics when I'm done. Hopefully it won't look so crappy then.

LOL! Yes we all know a work in progress can be a mess. I'm sure you will have it looking sharp when you are done. Then you can post the finished work. Good luck!

Here's what I got finished up today. Have to finish deadening the trunk, but everything's wired up and ready to go.

Mesh so polyfill won't go through the port easily.

Curious as to why you think it should be higher? I chose to make it the height it is so I still have some "breathing room" through the trunk area, as well as make it easy to take out.

Really? I figured since alot of people recommend it to "increase internal volume" it wouldn't really matter. I know the grate over the port is ludicrous, lol. you just totaly killed the point in using areo ports, with puting that mesh on it

poly fill is generally used in sealed box's to make that sub act like its in a bigger box

Take the mesh random off and get the polyfil out.

Even if you leave the polyfil, it won't blow out of the port. You do realize there is air moving in AND out of the port right?
